Manyara
Lake Manyara National Park is a compact but remarkably diverse destination located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
The park’s different habitats include groundwater forests, open grasslands, wetlands and the shores of Lake Manyara. This variety supports a wide range of wildlife and bird species.
Visitors may encounter elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, baboons, hippos and numerous birds.
Lake Manyara is particularly attractive for travelers who enjoy combining wildlife with beautiful landscapes and birdwatching.
The park works especially well as part of a Northern Circuit itinerary between Tarangire and the Ngorongoro area.
Best For: Wildlife, elephants, birdwatching, landscapes and shorter game drives.
