3 Days Mahale Mountains National Park Safari

Depart Dar es Salaam by domestic flight towards Mahale. Depending on the flight routing, arrival may be at Mahale Airstrip or via Kigoma followed by a boat transfer along Lake Tanganyika.

On arrival, transfer to your lakeside accommodation. Enjoy lunch and some time to relax before taking in the spectacular scenery of the forested mountains and Lake Tanganyika.

Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a short lakeside walk or relax at the beach.

After breakfast, begin your guided chimpanzee trekking experience with an authorized park ranger.

Follow forest trails into the mountains in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. Mahale's forest is also home to other primates, birds and forest wildlife. Chimpanzee viewing follows park regulations designed to protect both visitors and the animals.

After the trek, return for lunch and spend the afternoon enjoying the surroundings. Depending on conditions and your selected package, you may choose a boat excursion, kayaking, snorkeling or relaxing along the lakeshore.
